China's Zhuhai Golden Gulf Golf Club course is located on a 500-hectare area of sea-filled land which is a 30 minute drive from downtown Zhuhai. The sandy soil of the 27-hole golf course, designed by Colin Montgomerie, is complemented by the design of Zhuhai's Golf Course's bent grass grown on the fairways and rough. Tifdwarf and Bermuda were adopted for the greens.

Zhuhai Golden Golf Club is surrounded by water which contrasts spectacularly with the brilliant greens of the fairways and yet only three holes require the player to hit across the lakes. Most of the lakes are by the holes and will not create too many problems for the average golfer.

Zhuhai Golden Golf Glub is a very modern club yet in a very unspoilt setting. Practice facilities at Zhuhai Golf Club are some of the most comprehensive in Asia and lighting on 9 of the holes allows play to continue after dark.

In tribute to the course's architect the Club House at the Zhuhai Golden Golf Club has a very Scottish feel and offers a range of excellent catering facilities along with state of the art health and leisure provisions. This Colin Montgomerie course’s central design themes include five tee boxes on every hole, generous landing areas, plentiful risk/reward shot options, dramatic bunkering and large accommodating greens. Although designed and built with an ability to host a professional event, beginners will be comforted by how receptive and friendly the course plays, while better players will be thoroughly tested from the back tees. Each of the 3 nine-hole loops, Troon, Turnberry and Nairn) include plenty of links-style golf features, especially around the greens where there are generous chipping areas to give golfers several options for recovery shots.
