Last week in my journal I hoped for a better finish than last year in Paris when I finished 3rd, I got it, I finished 2nd! The last two days I putted well, and the massive 40ft birdie I holed on the 18th on Sunday afternoon gave me second spot. So a good week. Paoblo Larrazabal’s played very well and he has a good future ahead of him.
The confidence is coming back and last week was a a step in the right direction. It's especially encouraging with the next three weeks coming up. This week the European Open takes place at The London Club, I'm defending champion having won in Ireland last year, but I'm looking forward to The London Club and defending my title. The following week we are at home in Scotland at Loch Lomond and then onto Royal Birkdale for The Open Championship.
Yesterday, Monday, I was in Holland looking at my latest design project, The Dutch. I'm working with European Golf Design on this exciting project in Spijik, not far from Rotterdam. It promises to be an exciting project, it will have a links feel to it but plenty of water too. I drove back last night, so a quick rest and then off to The London Club, busy week but looking forward to it.
Thank you for all your messages, it's good to be on home soil for the next three weeks and knowing I have such great support.
