This week I am unexpectedly back at home. After the Volvo China Open I was due to play in the Ballantines’s Championship in South Korea but have had to withdraw. For the past three or four months I’ve been carrying an injury to my right hand, and before I left for the Volvo China Open I had to have a cortisone injection which I need to have checked this week after some discomfort. It’s a huge disappointment for me to miss the Ballantines Championship, I’ve been looking forward to playing this tournament, it’s a great field and Ballantines are a superb sponsor. I very much hope I will have the opportunity of returning in the future.

Last week at the Volvo China Open I was honoured to receive a lifetime award from Volvo, Volvo have been an outstanding supporter of the European Tour and I have been lucky enough to win several of their tournaments, but unfortunately not this year’s China Open, three rounds of 73 and one round of 70 saw me finished T25.

So this week I will be at home, resting and getting myself fit so I can return to Tournament golf as soon as possible.
