Playing Tips
Q.   It is impossible to exaggerate the importance of a good grip...
A.   Grip the club correctly and you have a chance to develop into an accomplished golfer. When you start to play golf, the first priority is to build a grip that enables you to return the club square to the target at impact.

Q.   Which is your favoured golf course and why?
A.   This is a very hard question because I like different courses for different reasons but if put on the spot, I would have to choose the Ailsa at Turnberry - it embodies everything I love about links golf and the scenery is spectacular and Scottish!! In the US I would definitely choose Pine Valley in New Jersey – an absolutely amazing golf course.

Q.   Colin, do you find you are able to switch off and forget about your round as soon as you finish or like 99% of amateurs, do you look back on what might have been?
A.   I think in the past I may have been prone to going over my round of golf but now I make a conscious effort to leave my golf on the course. It is very important when playing not to carry your mistakes with you but to approach each hole or stroke completely afresh – I know this can be difficult but it can make a huge difference to your game.

Q.   Colin, I love the way you fade your shots, can you also draw them?
A.   Although the fade is my signature shot and the shape I prefer to hit, I can play the draw and there are obviously times when this is needed.
