After a relaxing Christmas break with the family it is back to work this week in the Volvo Golf Champions at Fancourt in South Africa.
This will be my 25th year on Tour and I still have plenty of goals to aim for. I’m looking forward to try to win, to be the oldest winner on the European Tour would be super.
I’ve changed equipment to try and realise that goal, I’ve gone back to Callaway. I had most of my success in the 90’s with Callaway equipment, five order of merits in a row.
I’m really excited about using the equipment especially this week, the first tournament of the year for me.
I’m driving the ball well, and the irons are good, so if I can hole some putts, I’ve a good chance to reach that goal of a win.
We are playing a great course this week, Fancourt Links, voted the No 1 course in South Africa, and deservedly so. It’s an exceptional golf course, a great design.
After South Africa, I go on to the Middle East for three weeks. I’m looking forward to this year .
